Sustainability Policy
At Kangan Batman TAFE we aim to minimise any harm resulting from our activities and to create economic, social and environmental value. We intend to demonstrate that a publicly owned TAFE institute can build its cultural and social development role by being an exemplary, profitable and contemporary vocational education, training and related services enterprise.
We aim for a transparent, open culture, with strong community partnerships which respond to changing community expectations. We work to develop systematic, innovative approaches to sustainability, fully integrated into our code of conduct and decision making, with continuous disclosure of sustainability performance. We reject the concept that, to succeed, we need a closed culture in which financial and technical issues predominate, where minimising liabilities and concentrating on damage control of the company's reputation are key performance indicators, and where management issues devolve from legislative reporting requirements.

The Automotive Centre of Excellence sod turning ceremony on 15th December, 2004 also saw the launching of "Making the Connection", a comprehensive report for the Institute, which outlines in detail our commitment to best practice in sustainability.
