Ongoing Learning
Kangan Batman TAFE provides training for all sectors of the automotive industry, from retail, service and repair (RS&R) to vehicle and component manufacturing, management, and motorsport. The ACE will eventually bring together in one location, all of the Institute's automotive industry training programs.
The Automotive Body Trades group has already re-located from the Richmond campus, and other training areas will be moving to Docklands when the latter stages of the ACE are complete.
Programs currently include short courses, pre-apprenticeships, traineeships, apprenticeships and advanced trade training in the areas of panel beating, vehicle bodymaking, and vehicle painting. These trades are in high demand in both the manufacturing and retail, service and repair sectors of the automotive industry.
In addition to other areas of automotive training, stages two and three of the ACE development will feature research and development facilities shared with other educational institutions. The later stages will also feature conference facilities and an industry centre.
